Buone vacanze – Enjoy your holiday

Recentemente ho partecipato allo swap organizzato dal gruppo FB di miniaturisti italiani, Casa di Bambola – Miniature e Divertimento, per festeggiare il raggiungimento dei 1000 iscritti.

Il tema era: Io vado in vacanza, vuoi venire con me?? Io sono stata invitata da Caterina Milella ad andare in montagna con lei e mi ha inviato questo meraviglioso regalo dalla Puglia.

Con il prezioso aiuto di Dada abbiamo preparato un breve video per mostrarvelo in ogni particolare.

I recently participated in the swap organized by the FB group of Italian miniaturists, Casa di Bambola – Miniature e Divertimento, for the 1000 members celebration.

The theme was: I’m going on vacation, do you want to come with me?? I was invited by Caterina Milella to go to the mountains. So she sent me this wonderful gift from Apulia.

With the invaluable assistance of Dada we prepared this short video to show you every detail.

Questo è il suo biglietto d’accompagnamento con il pacchettino.

This is her card with the little packet.

Caterina ama le montagne e mi ha invitata a fare una camminata con lei tra le vette alpine. Per questo ha preparato uno zaino che contiene tutto l’occorrente.

Lo zaino è interamente cucito a mano. E’ stato realizzato in panno, un materiale tipico e robusto con il quale vengono realizzati anche cappelli e calde pantofole. Ha una tasca sul davanti per tenere in ordine tutto quello che deve contenere.

Gli spallacci sono di pelle alla quale è stato applicato del feltro. Questa imbottitura attenua la pressione sulle spalle, perché lo zaino quando è pieno può essere molto pesante.

Anche la maniglia è di pelle, così come il cinghietto per fermare la patella che chiude lo zaino.

Tutte le fibbie sono sono funzionanti e servono a regolare gli spallacci ed il cinghietto.

Catterina loves the mountains and she invited me for a hike in the Alps. Therefor she prepared a backpack with everything we need.

The backpack is completely hand-stitched. It’s made of felt, a traditional and robust material that is also used to make hats and warm slippers. It has a useful front pocket.

The shoulder straps are made of leather combined with felt. This padding reduces the pressure on the shoulders, as the backpack can be very heavy when it is full packed.

The handle is made of leather, as well as the strap of the top lid that closes the backpack.

All buckles are functioning so that the shoulder straps can be adjusted and the top lid closed.

Nella tasca  anteriore ho trovato la cartina con le strade ferrate. Ha una copertina rigida ed è piegata come quelle vere. Un mazzolino di stelle alpine – nel mondo in scala 1:12 si possono raccogliere a differenza di quello reale – ingentilisce il tutto.

In the front pocket I found the map with the fixed rope routes. It has a hard cover and is bent like the real ones. There was also a bouquet of edelweiss, but beware you can pick them only if they are in 1:12 scale.

Nella capiente tasca interna c’erano un’utile guida delle Dolomiti e un libro sulle leggende di queste zone. Dentro un sacchetto di carta color avana ho trovato un ricco panino da mangiare a merenda con uova sode, foglie insalata, fagiolini e la tipica Mortandela affumicata della Val di Non.

In the large interior pocket there were a useful guidebook of the Dolomites and a book on the legends of these areas. Inside a brown bag I found a rich sandwich with boiled eggs, salad leaves, green beans and smoked Mortandela, typical could cuts from the Val di Non.

Siamo quindi pronte a partire per godere le belle montagne, che Caterina ama da quando  ci andava in vacanza da bambina, le Dolomiti.

We are ready to go and enjoy the beautiful mountains. Catherine loves the Dolomites since she was a child and spent her holidays there.

Ecco come Caterina descrive la nostra camminata:

“immagina di fare una passeggiata nel bosco con me, ammireremo le stelle alpine, che è vero che non si raccolgono ma si possono fotografare, e di tanto in tanto troveremo un pò di fragoline e di lamponi che sono deliziosi se presi nel sottobosco.. profumo di muschio, di terra umida, di funghi, di abeti bagnati di rugiada… aria frizzantina e tanto silenzio rotto appena dallo scrosciare del ruscello e dal canto degli uccelli! sotto i nostri passi lo scricchiolare dei rami secchi, attutiti dagli aghi di pino caduti e dall’erba fresca… uno spiraglio di luce tra i rami degli alberi fa vedere il cielo azzurro intenso e un raggio di sole che si posa sui tuoi capelli… e io ti faccio una bella fotografia 🙂
poi al termine del sentiero, arrivate in cima alla montagna, ecco la potenza del creato! il panorama a 360° rivela cime di monti ricoperti di folto bosco e roccia rude, che ti insegna ad apprezzare la fatica e a rispettare la natura! la valle si staglia pacifica sotto di noi e ti senti impotente ma meravigliosamente parte integrante di questo universo… e tutti i problemi ti appaiono di colpo insignificanti e la pace entra lentamente nel tuo cuore e ti senti felice!!
…sì, davvero una bella vacanza! e sono felice di condividerla con te ❤“

Here’s how Caterina describes our mountain hike:

“Imagine you would walk into the woods with me, we would talk and admire the edelweiss, it’s true you are not allowed to pick them, but you can take pictures. Occasionally we would find some wild strawberries and raspberries. They are delicious when you pick them in the undergrowth .. the sent of moss, damp earth, mushrooms, dewy wet spruces … The crisp air and lots of silence broken only by the flowing of the stream and the birdsong! Under our feet the crackling of dry branches, muffled by the fallen pine needles and fresh grass … a glimmer of light through the tree branches shows the deep blue sky and a sun beam falls on your hair … and I take a nice picture of you 🙂
Then at the end of the trail, we reach the top of the mountain, here you feel the power of creation! The 360 ° view reveals the peaks of the mountains covered with thick forest and rough rocks, it teaches you to appreciate the effort and to respect nature! The valley stands peacefully below us and you feel powerless and at the same time part of this universe … and all the problems will appear suddenly insignificant and peace slowly enters into your heart and you feel happy !!
… Yes, a really nice vacation! and I am happy to share it with you ❤ “
